iPaaS versus ESB
Traditional ESB players have (mostly) an on-premises software architecture model that typically utilizes technology common before the rise of the cloud. As such, its heavy on-premises footprint and older messaging and document standards work best for integrating on-premises and aggregated systems. However, these two integration models are seeing some convergence. A major point of difference between ConnectPlaza® and ESB's in general is the direction of scalability.
ConnectPlaza® is very well suited for horizontal scalability integration with third parties, partners, and ad hoc applications such as Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Lightweight and flexible, ConnectPlaza® enables enterprises and ISVs to quickly connect and integrate their cloud applications and systems.
Last but not least, ConnectPlaza® is designed in such a way that you do not need in-depth knowledge of integration and has a No coding but a Configuration principle (No Java knowledge required), whereas with Legacy ESB's you require in-depth Java skilled engineers. Because of this you see a trend that implementations of ESB environments are often prolonged and costly projects and that you still need skilled engineers as administrators when in production.
- ConnectPlaza Product Management -
"Sometime ago we built our own bespoke ESB to meet the unique challenges of our customer environments.
Over the years we have attempted to migrate to several tier 1 solutions at great expense, only to find that the promises of capability, flexibility & performance promised fell well short of our requirements
Having now implemented their iPaaS - Connectivity Platform into a Solution, I am pleased to say that ConnectPlaza® are the real deal.
